Black Mint was founded by Crystal Smith, a born and raised Washington DC native. While maintaining her career during the pandemic as a federal government employee she birthed Black Mint. Crystal has always had an eye for interior design, pottery, and overall diy. Crystal decided that she wanted to open a business for home renovation staging and her own line of interior home decor, she is proud to be a black owned candle maker in the DC area where she has been featured in 5 plus locations in the District of Columbia. Her first year of business she met the mayor for small business month in DC where her Cherry Blossom themed candles were sold at DC staple Washington Convention Center. She plans on working with major store retailers, hotel brands, as well as creating a Merch and Pajama line for her company.
